While newlyweds Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky were gettin’ smoochy at the US Open, oldyweds Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were gettin’ their party on elsewhere at the US Open tournament. Ashl33n were spotted partying up in their private suit during the US Open this weekend and as you can see, Ashlee was in a great mood all the while:
I’m guessing all the free-flowing booze had something to do with Ashlee‘s mood … but as soon as a Fall Out Boy song was played over the loudspeakers, she really got into a frisky mood. Now, I’ve seen Ashlee party before … but never at a sporting event. What is it with tennis? It seems to bring out the animal in everyone.

In between sets, Chelsea and Marc got all smoochy with one another … showing that the honeymoon is deffo not over for these two:
Their wedding was the stuff of fairytales. But just four weeks after their $3.2million wedding, it’s clear that Chelsea Clinton and new husband Marc Mezvinsky haven’t quite come back down to earth. The newlyweds were seen sneaking kisses while watching Venus Williams play at the US Open Tennis Championship in Flushing Meadows, New York. Hiding her blonde hair under a hat, Chelsea and Mark were seen out in public together for the first time since their high profile wedding. But despite many details of the ceremony being made public, amazingly the couple managed to keep their honeymoon destination a secret. Maybe they got help from the Secret Service? Possibilities for their honeymoon hideaway were a safari in South Africa, or a European bike tour. But judging by the lack of tan the pair were sporting, maybe they chose to just stay home for a couple of weeks.
Aww … they’re so cute. I just love seeing Chelsea Clinton look so happy. It really doesn’t seem like it’s been over a month since the pair were wed but I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun. I’m really glad to know that they newlyweds are still very much in lurve … and are, apparently, happy to share the lurve with the rest of the world. So cute!!

Gavin Henson, British rugby stud and newly separated fiancée of Charlotte Church, stripped down to his birthday suit in order to appear in a promo photo for Cosmopolitan magazine meant to raise funds and awareness for the Everyman Campaign. The Everyman Campaign is the UK’s leading prostate and testicular cancer campaign and chose well when they decided to get Henson to strip down for the cause … check out his husky and hot photo:
Having braved sub-zero temperatures for a new reality TV show, stripping off under warm studio lights was not exactly going to be a problem. But Gavin Henson wasn’t just showing off his toned and tanned physique as a treat for his female admirers. Instead he dared to bare all for a magazine shoot to raise awareness of male cancer for the Everyman charity. Gavin, 28, stripped off for a special photo shoot for next month’s issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. It was for the Everyman campaign to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer and encourage men to get themselves regular checked. His picture was inspired by his forthcoming reality TV show 71 Degrees North, which starts on ITV this Saturday. The programme will see Gavin compete against other celebrities including actor Shane Richie, TV presenters Andrew Castle and Konnie Huq and Ultimo bra boss Michelle Mone, to be the first to reach the northern-most point of Europe – latitude 71 degrees. Each week they will be given a daring task to complete while enduring the freezing wastes of Norway.
While this photo is meant to be a nod towards Henson‘s upcoming new show, I could honestly care less where the lad decides to strip down … and in what setting. In all seriousness, tho, testicular and prostate cancer is a very serious matter and anything that can be done to bring awareness to the disease is very important and very welcome. That being said, I’m just glad that Gavin Henson is contributing to the cause in as hot a way as possible. We don’t really have professional rugby here in the US so I hope y’all Brits don’t mind us yanks appreciating your crop of hunky men

On Sunday we got our first look at Rooney Mara on the Stockholm set of the US version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and today we get to see new photos of Rooney on the streets of Stockholm trying to draw as little attention to herself as possible. Rooney and a male friend were spotted doing a bit of shopping yesterday … behold:
As you can see, Rooney is wearing this knit cap in order to keep her edgy new haircut under wraps … but we already got to see what her new Dragon Tattoo ‘do looks like so the hat really isn’t necessary. It seems pretty clear that she’s none-too-happy that she has been found and is being photographed in Stockholm but considering how big a deal the US version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is, well, she better get used to the attention. I know that many people are angry that a US version of the film is being made but I’m all for it. Not only do I trust that director David Fincher will make a fantastic film but US films will do NOTHING to take away from the fantastic original Swedish films. I’ve seen all 3 Swedish films and I love them entirely … no new film can take that away. But I am curious to see how the stories can be retold with new actors. I’m really looking forward to the release of the US films … and I’m really anxious to see more from the Swedish set of Dragon Tattoo.

Let me tell you about my Labor Day … it was full of a whole lotta nothin’. Since David had returned from his quick trip to San Francisco on Saturday and I returned from Detroit on Sunday we were both happy to lie low all day yesterday. For the most part, we just lazed about the house reveling in the fact that it was a quiet holiday. I did manage to run one errand last night tho, just to get out of the house. While I was home in Detroit, I found a bunch of vintage Swatch watches that I had left in my bedroom in my childhood home:
Naturally, all of the batteries in these Swatch watches had died ages ago … so I took them to the Swatch store on Hollywood Blvd. to get all the batteries replaced. As you may recall, Swatch was doing free battery replacements a couple of weeks go but I was happy to pay to have my old watches refreshed with new batteries. Now I have a few more Swatches to wear 
Yep, that was the exciting highlight of my day yesterday.
I was home in time to watch some TV and was able to do a bit of reading … ’twas a nice, quiet day.
Tonight, David and I are meeting up with Darion for dinner before he and his father head off to Tokyo, Japan for 10 days. I can’t EVEN tell you how jealous I am of Darion’s trip … but I’m glad he and his dad are going. I’m counting on living vicariously thru him via his Twitter while he’s on holiday. Well, well, well … what have we here? A couple of weeks ago we learned that Jennifer Aniston will be appearing in upcoming eps of her BFF Courtney Cox-Arquette‘s hit ABC series Cougar Town and today we learn that Jen is gettin’ some extra perks from her association with the show. People magazine is reporting that Jen went on a 2-hour date with Josh Hopkins, who plays hottie neighbor Grayson on Cougar Town, which might be the first sign of a new romantic relationship for the famously single Ms. Aniston:

The actress, 40, (who was recently rumored to be back together with John Mayer) shared a two-hour Italian dinner with Cougar Town actor Josh Hopkins at Madeo in Beverly Hills on Sept. 2. “She seemed very excited about her date,” says a eyewitness. “She and Josh sat at a more private table and they seemed to get along great.” Aniston, who sipped white wine and ordered fish, shared animated conversations with Hopkins, 39. “It was obvious that they don’t know each other well, but there was a flirty energy between them and Jen looked very happy,” adds the witness. I LOVE Josh Hopkins on Cougar Town … and I really love the idea of a possible love match blossoming between Jen and Josh. He seems like the perfect guy for her … he’s in the biz so he understands the demands of her life but he’s also not all that famous so that she can enjoy some of his normalcy. Josh is also a hottie (much hotter than John Mayer, IMHO) so there is much for Jen to enjoy from him. Because of Jen‘s notorious singleness, I’m not holding my breath just yet … but I do like this pairing very much. Here’s hoping this 2-hour date turns into something more substantial and long-lasting.

Paris Hilton, who has been charged with felony cocaine possession and has been banned from all Wynn Hotel properties in Las Vegas, NV after being arrested in Sin City a couple of weekends ago, popped up on the island of Maui, HI over the weekend. It would appear that Paris is hiding out in Hawaii (well, in a grocery store in Hawaii, to be exact) while she awaits prosecution for her drug possession charge … behold:

Liezel Bermudez, a cashier at Napili Market, a small grocery store on the Hawaiian island of Maui, spoke to RadarOnline.com exclusively about her encounter with the heiress late last week. Liezel said: “Paris was in the produce section. She was holding lemons. She was holding so many lemons, and other fruit that i can’t remember, that i went up to her and offered her a basket. She said ‘thank you,’ and she told me that her boyfriend had a wagon, but that she didn’t take the basket.” Paris spent $700 in the market and didn’t seem at all stressed out or bothered, Liezel said “No, not at all. She seemed really happy, she was smiling. I asked her for a picture and she was really nice,” Liezel adds. “She posed for a picture with me and my co-worker Jao. Not lots of customers recognized her. I was surprised!” … It appears that Paris and her boyfriend Cy Waits are staying in a private home on Maui because Saturday night, Paris tweeted “Cooked a delicious lasagna dinner for my love and watched a movie. HMMM … I’m actually surprised that Paris is still with Cy Waits considering it was his drunk driving (and all that alleged marijuana smoke pouring out of his car) that got her arrested in the first place. As you may recall, Waits also got arrested and has been charged with DUI in addition to getting fired from his job at the Wynn Hotel. I guess this Maui trip is a great way for both Paris and Cy to fall off the radar for a while. It remains to be seen if the couple will be able to finagle their way out of these serious charges … but as they say, the couple that hangs together — swings together.

A couple of weeks ago we got our first look at Betty White in a new promo video for the upcoming season of Community to promote her guest appearance on the season premiere ep. Sure, summer may be over but at least you can look forward to the return of all your favorite TV shows this fall — like NBC’s Community, which just released photos from its upcoming season premiere starring hot octogenerian Betty White! Judging by these new stills, the episode featuring White as kooky anthropology professor June Bauer is going to be pretty awesome. Especially considering Community stars Joel McHale and Chevy Chase will also be back for the new season.
While I understand that some folks are beginning to suffer a bit of Betty White fatigue (because the Golden Girl tends to pop up on every show), I am just loving every time Betty shows up on new projects. As I mentioned before, I don’t usually watch Community but I’m planning to check out the season 2 premiere ep later this month to see Betty in action. Making for quite the impressive list of attendees, Fashion;s Night Out drew out Hollywood and the modeling world’s biggest names in New York City on Tuesday night (September 7).
Held at the Lincoln Center, over 150 models participated while showing off 171 new looks during a runway display that saw Gisele Bundchen and Naomi Campbell hit the catwalk.
As for the star-studded celebrity guest list, “Gossip Girl” gal Leighton Meester looked darling in a skin-baring Versus dress while her co-star Blake Lively mingled with Ashley Tisdale and Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
Rounding out the stylish celebs turning up was the always-lovely Bar Refaeli, who dazzled in a skin-tight black number while posing for pictures before checking out her fellow supermodel beauties in action.
